Supplier Quality

Companies do not win, supply chains win. RFMD's supply chain plays a vital role in providing products that delight customers. Supplier Quality engineers are located in North America, Europe and Asia to foster a close partnership with our suppliers, promote quick communication and give onsite support when warranted.

Key to our mutual supply chain success, RFMD has indentified four key components for superior supplier quality.


All changes must be properly communicated to RFMD via a Process Change Request (PCR) in accordance with RFMD policy. Minor changes such as recentering of sitributions within the specification window, may lead to quality spills. RFMD closely monitors for unauthorized changes through continued process monitoring. Unauthorized changes are not tolerated.

Change Management

RFMD is committed to ensuring continuity of supply reduction of defects and No quality spills. RFMD expects Perfect Quality (defined as zero incidents, zero customer defects and zero spills) from its supplier base.

Process Control

All employees must follow work instructions and RFMD-approved processes. Detailed control plans documenting and controlling process parameters are crucial. Critical parameters are clearly identified and Statistical pProcess Controls (SPC) are in place to alert the manufacturing operation of possible issues before they occur. Out-of-Control Action Plans (OCAPs) are prevalent throughout the organization to allow for quick and effective actions whien issues are encountered.

Continuous Improvement

Review of past quality incidents demonstrates that many are preventable with robust corrective actions across all process areas. Incidents are an opportunity to improve process, and RFMD demands thorough root cause investigation to ensure implementation of robust corrective actions to eliminate reoccurence.
