POLARIS™ 3 TOTAL RADIO™ Module

The POLARIS™ 3 TOTAL RADIO™ module solution provides handset manufacturers a compact, world-class, quad-band EDGE radio with the added benefit of significantly reducing power consumption and extending talk time when used with the advanced RF9003 switch mode power supply (SMPS) module.

POLARIS 3 follows up the industry leading POLARIS™ 2 TOTAL RADIO™ solution for E-GPRS applications with a next-generation large signal polar modulation (DigRF) compliant EDGE radio. The POLARIS 3 solution consists of the RF6030, a single-chip CMOS radio transceiver module and RX SAW filters; the RF3251, a transmit front-end module; and the RF9003, a groundbreaking DC-DC SMPS. At less than 200mm(2) footprint for the entire radio, POLARIS 3 is one of the smallest quad-band EDGE radio solutions on the market.

POLARIS™ 2 TOTAL RADIO™ Module

The POLARIS 2 TOTAL RADIO Module is a highly integrated, two module radio solution for GSM/GPRS/EDGE mobile handset applications. The transceiver provides analog and digital baseband interfaces and uses open loop polar modulation for efficient 8-PSK modulation. The complementary transmit module includes the antenna switch, power amplifier and PowerStar® power controller. The POLARIS family of products provides handset manufacturers the benefits of reduced component count, small size and exceptional RF performance at a lower cost of implementation.

POLARIS™ 1 and POLARIS™ 2 TOTAL RADIO™ Solution

The POLARIS™ TOTAL RADIO Solution for GSM/GPRS application and POLARIS™ 2 TOTAL RADIO™ Solution for GSM/GPRS/EDGE applications are both highly integrated transceiver solutions with PowerStar® power amplifier modules designed to support up to four frequency bands while operating under their respective air interface standards. The POLARIS and POLARIS 2 chipset solutions provide handset manufacturers the benefits of reduced component count, flexible baseband interface and lower cost of implementation while achieving exceptional RF performance.
